Stories can take us on marvellous journeys, put us in unexpected positions and encourage us to see our world from radically different perspectives. Sometimes, however, books can be baffling things, too!
Via online delivery, LA1 Tutoring offers personalised, patient and positive guidance for GCSE, A-Level, pre-University and Undergraduate students of English Literature. One-to-one Zoom sessions offer the convenience of online study without losing the creative conversations and the enjoyment of finding one’s own interpretive voice which emerges through discussion and debate.
My approach is not directed toward teaching stock responses or ‘model answers’. Instead, I encourage developing a deeper understanding of texts, enabling independent, creative and thoughtful responses to be formed. Growing these skills will help to equip and empower the English Literature student to approach exams, essays, projects and discussions with confidence in their own abilities, perspectives, interpretations and critical voice.
